Refurbishment has continued this term with the continuous updates of more areas.
Security has been improved around the school perimeter with new fencing to improve both security and safety for all our children, additional door entry and CCTV in key areas has now been installed.
We are always looking at ways to reduce our environmental impact and have added more automatic lights, this has us now below the average energy usage of a school this age and size in Kent.
The long awaited Library project is now completed based on the Harry Potter theme with lots of new books, shelving, seating and stunning chandelier lighting being installed.
We are currently working on improvements to playground areas with new bins, better seating and new play equipment for our children. This included a canopy area around the infant classrooms for better outside play in the winter and an artificial turf area in this playground.
We are working closely with forest schools, to design our very own for the infant children to spend more time outside. This includes an all-weather canopy, fire pit, with new pathways to the area. We have also planted considerable numbers of young trees to develop over time this area to create a much better wooded environment.
Work hasn’t stopped just yet. There is more decorating planned in the Infant areas, some replacement windows going in and small amounts of decorating happening over the next couple of terms.
All this should be completed by early spring 2017, ready for the children to fully enjoy the new activities that will be available outside to them.
