Our School
St Matthew’s High Brooms CE Primary School is situated in a north eastern suburb of Tunbridge Wells. We are a reflective school – we constantly evaluate our work and seek to improve what we do. We listen to the views of our pupils and parents, and use these as a basis for improving even more.
Ethos and Values
We welcome all local children to attend our school, and our aim is simple – for each individual to achieve as highly as they possibly can in both their learning and their personal development.
We are a voluntary controlled, Church of England Primary School maintaining very close links with the Parish Church of St Matthew’s. The school is administered by the school governors in liaison with the Diocese of Rochester and Kent County Council.
Our school’s strong Christian ethos is fundamental to the life of the school. Our children spend time every day taking part in school Worship, this usually lasts for 15 minutes focussing on a Christian value which then permeates throughout the school week.
Our school community has recently decided that our Christian values, which are distinctive to our school, are:
- Kindness
- Honesty
- Respect
- Responsibility
These values permeate every aspect of our Christian school community.
