The PTA have worked tirelessly to raise the funds over the past couple of years to get this amazing piece of play equipment for our children. We are extremely grateful to each and every one who has supported the […]

Year 6 Residential

What a fantastic time the year 6 children had on the Residential Activity Week. We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather as it stayed dry and warm for our week’s camping in the Mendip Hills. A full and fun-packed programme was created for us by the amazing staff at the Mendips Activity Centre. The […]

Coronation Celebration

How lovely it was to gather together on the playground to mark the King’s Coronation. We then spent the afternoon paired up with a class from another year to create coronation art collaboratively. Jeremy Strong visits St Matthew’s

KS2 children had a wonderful presentation by the very popular author, Jeremy Strong. He told us all about how and where he writes, and explained the process he goes through to publish one of his books. Who knew a fridge was integral to writing! There were lots of laughs and giggles as he told stories […]

World Book Day

The children really enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day. A highlight this year was the book tombola. All years had the opportunity to have a go and the children were really pleased when they won a book. A great day to inspire reading and develop strong readers.
