Harvest

We had a very lovely Harvest Service in St Matt’s church. The children walked down beautifully, with the year 5 & 6 children holding hands with Reception and Year 1.
Our year 3&4 children led the service with the highlight being their song about sowing seeds of friendship. Reverend Rob gave a talk about The Parable of the Mustard Seed.
As part of our Harvest Celebrations, we asked for donations to the Community Larder. They were very grateful for our support and invited our Leading Lights to come down and visit them and see where the donations went. The children were amazed at the amount of tins in the store room (especially baked beans!) The children asked some interesting questions and they found out that donations come from lots of different people and businesses. The ladies at the Community Larder explained that the money they collect from customers is used to buy food from FareShare, who collect excess food from supermarkets and the food industry.
