Year 6 Residential

This year, we took a super group of Year 6s to The Mendips Activity Centre for their residential visit. We spent a week under canvas and enjoyed a wide range of outdoor activities. It has to be said that the weather for the first couple of days was not kind to us, but the children also learnt how to be resilient in the face of torrential rain! Each day, the children could earn points for their group in activities, as well as around camp with washing up, clearing up and being helpful. Tents were kept neat and tidy with daily tent inspections.
It was fantastic to see pupils rising to the challenge of a new activity, whether it was canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering, tobogganing, bushcraft, archery or a very muddy obstacle course. Not only did they have days filled with action, but there was evening entertainment too. The children particularly enjoyed visiting the beach as the sun began to set.
It was fun, challenging, successful and to be honest quite exhausting, but so worth it for the memories they will carry with them.
