World Book Day

World Book Day 2026.

We always enjoy celebrating World Book Day, and this year has been no exception. All the children and staff dressed up for WBD, and there were a variety of wizards, witches, pirates, princesses, superheros and animals, which made the school look very colourful! Throughout the morning, the classes did ‘Stop, Drop, Read’, and we had times of quiet concentration as everyone enjoyed their books. There has been a book raffle, where children have had the chance to win a new book. In the afternoon, we decided to make a change with storytime and all the staff swapped classes and chose a favourite book to read to a new children. We finished off the day with an assembly to celebrate books and stories.

As part of our commitment to developing children’s literacy skills, we have invested in new book corner furniture to make every classroom have an inviting and comfortable place to choose an dread a wonderful book.
