Language Support
At St Matthew’s we are delighted to have a rich and diverse school community. The children thrive when they learn from each other, there is a strong feeling of mutual respect and care towards all. We offer support for children whose mother tongue language is not English, by differentiating the curriculum, adjusting resources, providing key word banks linked to learning journeys, and increasing visual representation. All classteachers have the responsibility to ensure that all children are supported in their learning, parents are welcome at any time to discuss strategies that are put in place with the classteacher. We track the progress and attainment of all our children and review EAL support regularly.
